2 of 3 people found the following review helpful Nice card., By MahrsMusic (Imperial, PA United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: XFX HD 7970 Black Edition 3 GB 1000MHZ GDDR5 Dual Mini DisplayPort HDMI DVI PCI-E (Personal Computers) It's the biggest & baddest in the land. Picture perfect when pushing 30" worth of Diablo 3 pixels and everything's set to max. Fan's pretty loud, though, when pushed. 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful Excellent video card, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: XFX HD 7970 Black Edition 3 GB 1000MHZ GDDR5 Dual Mini DisplayPort HDMI DVI PCI-E (Personal Computers) This card really completes my rig. Excellent permformance, power consumption and form factor for its class. Allows me to play any game at maximum settings with 16x MLAA antialiasing (including Battlefield 3).This card is expensive and requires at least a 750W power supply for most builds. Recommend for serious gamers and rig designs. Drivers crash, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: XFX HD 7970 Black Edition 3 GB 1000MHZ GDDR5 Dual Mini DisplayPort HDMI DVI PCI-E (Personal Computers) Installed in brand new hp phoenix with windows 7 64. Kept getting long pauses about once per minute, followed by display driver not reponding messages. Only two things would stop this problem - disabling driver or putting some load on the gpu for example running Microsoft flight simulator. The tech support from xfx was terrible, had me install every beta catalyst driver they could find, then just stopped reponding in the middle of the issue fo over a week, I sent the card back to amazon and replaced it with a gigabyte hd7970 with the same 1000mhz clock speed. The gigabyte card worked perfect with the same computer and same drivers, so the xfx card was obviously defective. I will never buy from xfx again, I can understand the occasional defective card, but the unhelpful and nonresponsive techsupport was unexcusable. |
