Now since this isn't binned, I got unlucky, my core only goes to 1180 stable, but I'm perfectly content with it. The card stays really cool, much cooler than my old lightening 6970. Me posting my own values is worthless because you guys will have different case setups etc. Regardless, my maximum temps at 1625mv memory, 1200mv Core 1180mh core and 1800mhz memory are 62-3 degrees peaking with powerdraw unlocked with 100% gpu load and 100% fan speed. This is probably pulling something ridiculous like 300w. On BF:3 MAX 100% settings it stays at 59% fan speed, and never goes above 56 degrees Celsius. Just for referance, at my OC I get a minimum of 55 fps and a maximum of 78 fps infantry on a 64 player map on back to karkand (BF:3). In a jet it goes way over 120, but it's normally around 62-5fps during infantry gun battles. In a heli it can dip to 44 fps when... Honestly I've thrown everything at it and so far it's amazing satisfying results that have exceeded all my expectations and I highly recommend this card for it's cooling system alone. I originally had this Radeon 6950 XFX ATI Radeon HD6950 2 GB DDR5 2DVI/HDMI/2x Mini-Displayport PCI-Express Video Card HD695XCDFC and the dual fan technology was doing some amazing things to the temperature and it was giving some great temps under load, Crysis 2, Battlefield 3, The Witcher 2 at close to max settings and it never went passed 80c. This 7970 however has not even passed 50c under even more demanding conditions!!! It's crazy. I won't talk about performance here because of the amount of benchmarks readily available online. I was very very lucky that I won this card in a Gigabyte... Its a great video card and it runs cool. I know the reviews talk about the loud fan noise but the sound is actually covered up by my heatsink fans. The card is fast and works great and I did not see the need to overclock it for my needs. I would recommend it to anyone, however keep in mind that Nvidia is supposedly releasing a new video card to compete with the Radeon HD7970 this month (March 2012). A word of warning to potential buyers and owners of this card. I experienced a lot of freezing of the computer with this card particularly with playing games and watching videos on the internet (like youtube). The problems is with the Asus motherboard bios, it needed to be updated and I have not had any problems afterward. The video card comes to the Catalyst drivers CD, two molex to 6/8 pin connectors, and a crossfire link. People complain that there isn't anything else...
